What is the minimum and maximum capacity of the CryoCup?
The maximum capacity of cryoprotectant that the CryoCup will hold is 1μL. The minimum volume is dependent upon the skill of the scientist, the accuracy of the pipette and the volume that you feel is safe for an embryo to be vitrified in.
Is the CryoCup an open or closed vitrification system?
The CryoCup is designed to operate as both an open or closed system depending on the needs of the laboratory. At vitrification, the CryoCup is placed into its sleeve and pushed down where the wings of the CryoCup will secure the device in position. This can be stored immediately. Alternatively, the top of the sleeve can be sealed and then stored immediately.
Have other clinics tried the CryoCup?
Yes. Independent clinics have compared CryoCup to other devices. CryoCup results in >98% survival on warming.
What are the CryoCups made of?
The CryoCups are made of embryo safe plastics with each batch independently subjected to an MEA (Mouse Embryo Assay) test at an accredited Australian Laboratory.
Are the CryoCups available in different colours?
In addition to clear, the CryoCups are also available in the following colours: Pink, Green, Blue, Yellow and Purple. Each colour still maintains the translucency of the CryoCup allowing the scientist to see the embryo at all times during loading and warming of the embryo.
Do we need to re-establish our vitrification protocols? Do we need any special vitrification solutions?
No. The CryoCup is designed to fit straight into your current vitrification protocols and equipment. Similarly, no new vitrification solutions are required to adopt the CryoCup into your current protocol.
